Now we will discuss Field level security in Salesforce. This provides the access to the fields for different profiles. Using this you can restrict of provide access like edit,read to a certain field.
There are 2 buttons on every field to set the field accessibility and security for different profiles.
As Seen in above image, we can show or hide field for each profile using these buttons and also we can go to a specific profile and change it.
We can choose for which profile it can be visible and also we can make it read-only for some profile.

To change visibility at page layout level we can use field accessibility which comprises of both options of FLS and page layout accessibility. See below image where we can change accessibility of a field for different page layouts.
